Were there any customers along this line from the mainline to Tiftt Yard. Did the LV serve any of the grain elevators directly? Which roads interchanged at Tifft? I know the LV interchanged at Bison off the mainline with the N&W. Thanks.

Hey Charles, this webiste should help you: http://www.anthraciterailroads.org/lvrr ... ckdiag.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The charts are very detailed listings of LV carloads and customers in the late '60s and early '70s.

The LV's LH & LE Branch mainly serviced their company owned docks at the start. The LV Tift Basins had an elevator, Ore, coal, & lumber facilities for lake bound traffic.

They also serviced the Saskatckawan Pool (Cargil) Elevator on the Outer Harbor since the tracks led right to their yard @ Tift.

Reading that list, what is "443.7 CLINTON JCT" on the L&LE branch?
You're welcome. Just a guess by looking at the other Buffalo chart- I think it was the location of the division office(s).

LV also switched the warehouse on Fuhrmann Blvd that later became Freezer Queen. Tracks ran through what is now Small Boat Harbor. LV also had a track into the old American Standard plant near the Thruway. That has been gone for decades.

MP 443.7 was Clinton Street Interlocking.

Customers on the L&LE branch were Mc Caskey Lumber Company and West Seneca Lumber Company.
