Under the NYC, the Sandusky line to Bellefontaine was cut back below Kenton. Under PC, the stub segment from Kenton east to the EL was termed the Sands industrial track.

I believe there was also a connection to the OC Western line just before the Sandusky line crossed the Western and Scioto River westward from "Sands".

I understand that the two big industries in town on the Big 4 were Rockwell International and one other. The Conrail ZTS map shows Hooker Chemical. What sort of cars did these customers receive, what road names ?

The Hooker site suggests tank cars (large or smaller types under NYC ?) and covered hoppers. Anyone have any ideas what they manufactured here ?

The ZTS maps (post NYC) also show Carter Lumber, Imperial Cup, and Broderick, but these appear to have been from the former EL line segment which also passed through Kenton to the north of the Big 4. These all were collected in trackage later served by CR. Anyone have any ideas what Broderick received/shipped ?

It also appears that the OC Western had a yard north of town near an EL crossing (at grade ?). Is this the former location of International Car Co., the caboose manufacturer ?

Thanks for any help ... this looks like an interesting, perhaps modelable, location on the NYC.

The NYC did cross the EL at grade in Kenton, was the site of an interlocking tower.

International Car was east of Kenton along the EL, east of the OC main by perhaps a mile or two.

Lew : Thanks for the help with locating the former International Car Co. on the EL as opposed to the former Big 4.
