I'm looking for some tips on railfanning the Iowa Northern. When and where do regular trains run during the daylight hours? Are weekdays better than weekends? Any particularly photogenic spots?
Also, are IANR 678 (the F40PH) and the ex-Metra bilevels stored someplace where they are accessible for photography?

Hey Mike check out yahoo groups for the inrr. Mr Sabine is a member of it as well as a YM ( I think hes a YM) who gives lineups for railfans.
MHO this is the most fan friendly railroad so hop on that yahoo group and ask around. MR Sabine gives updates regular and has even told some old Rock stories as well. Good luck and happy fanning.
