I was driving from Alloway to Mullica Hill last weekend on Route 581/Commisioner's Pike, and at the east corner of the intersection of Route 40 (Harding Highway) was what looked like an old station in early stages of renovation. It looked like it was on a new foundation -- maybe it was moved since I don't know any old RR there. The old West Jersery & Southern line from Elmer to Salem was about 2 miles south of there crosssing 581 near Robbins Rd. Maybe the station was from down there? Anybody know anything?

You can actually see it with Google streetview: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source= ... 83,,1,0.89

Thanks, googling on "woodstown station" and so forth brought up several links that it was moved (in the early 70's), and one that says they want to move it back. Apparently the Elmer station was moved around the same time to be along Route 40 outside Elmer as well from one link (and there were plans a year ago to move it back too. Don't know the status.

Yes, it is the old WJ&S (PRR) Woodstown station. I drive by there on a somewhat regular basis and am quite familiar with it.

Does anyone know where the Elmer station building is located? Haven't noticed that one.

Glenn, thanks. There's a picture of the Elmer Station about 1/2 way down the 1st link in my 2nd email above. From googling, I found it is in the back of the Kountry Kitchen restaurant on Route 40 about a mile east of Elmer, just before Dutch Row Rd/511.

The one near 40 is used by a farmer to store his tractors and stuff. Not a proper use but beats having it torn down.

Later!
