Several years ago, Mister Google opened up to the whole world his truly fantastic application, GoogleEarth... free.
GoogleEarth is different from GoogleMaps. GoogleEarth is a program which allows one to draw colored lines and put labels on the satellite imagery for any part of the world (and a lot more,) and then share or send the files.
The chaps in Scranton have put two massive works in GoogleEarth. One is a complete mark-up showing all the "gravity railroads" which crossed the Moosic Mountain en route to the Honesdale/Hawley area, spanning almost a century and a half of history. Another is a monumental mark-up showing the routes of all the many railroads which once served the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area... complete with an identification of stations, yards and junctions.
Has anyone done anything like this for the Hazleton area... or thought about doing it ? I'd undertake the task myself, but am ninety miles away from the area and lack both intimate familiarity and historical resources.
