In the above linked article, Susan Spencer of the TELEGRAM & GAZETTE staff wrote:Town Counsel Ginny Kremer of Bowman & Penski told selectmen Tuesday night the town presented a strong case against the Grafton and Upton Railroad during its recent four-day bench trial in federal court, and Judge Timothy S. Hillman will hear closing arguments starting at 2:30 p.m. Monday.
In my opinion this is another way of saying; "I want to keep my job regardless of the outcome of this case".

Foolishly assuming (yeah, I know..) that the forecast possible ~two feet (~0.6 meters) of snow actually happens, what equipment does the G&U have on hand to deal with this?

I had a chance to zip over to Westborough Road (conviniently located five minutes from my job at Flynn's) this afternoon while trying (and in my opinion failing) to get decent pictures with my newly-repaired camera. I understand how whoever lives in the house directly adjacent to the yard would be spooked by the propane trans-load... But all of the other buildings are well outside of 300ft. Even if there was a catastrophe that saw some sort of blast, you'd need a tall-boy bomb to cause the damage the town is trying to scare into the public conscious (i.e the entire town gets leveled). Mr. Prescolli know's what he is doing. As for the final day in the hearing... I think the judge is convinced for the railroad, but he's being the professional and giving himself time to consider all of the details before he makes a final decision.

Does anyone know who controls the Friends of the Grafton & Upton Railroad page on Facebook? I "liked" it in December and posted my concerns about the propane terminal in my backyard. Since I was not a cheerleader for the propane tanks, I was removed and banned from posting. It was my mistake to think whoever controls the page wanted an open discussion of what is going on back there.

I don't know but why would you need to know?

Drove by the Grafton & Upton's complex in Hopedale, Ma today and noticed while driving on RT 16 (Mendon Street) where the future crossing will be there was a track panel laid out just to the north. Will this be used for the crossing? I know the crossing was originally scheduled to go in this past Fall, is the new timeframe this Spring? Thanks for the scoop...

They've probably been attacked by people with stuff to say about it and have gotten to the point where if they see anything about it they assume you're a local troll and eliminate your potential to be a problem on the spot. On the other hand, the case is currently in legal proceedings and for the parties involved to discuss it outside the courtroom is extremely inadvisable.

Anyone want to start a pool on when this ends? (The preceding was a solely rhetorical question and is not to be construed as an endorsement of, offer to, or solicitation to enter into any illegal gaming.)

Ok, I don't have the 45 min to wait online for the two documents to download, so....
...anyone wanna give us the "Reader's Digest?"

The first is just adding an additional lawyer for the NIMBYs (based in Washington DC)

The 2nd is asking for reconsideration of discovery. They reference that much has been learned based on the Grafton case and that discovery here could help uncover similar information.

Without further comment, this is from the "Rail Transportation Contract" (Exhibit C, "Petition For Reconsideration"):
