sorry if this is the wrong area, could go into penn central, conrail, models etc...

from articles and books ive read, the first order of FL9s had an older 567 which required extra piping on the roof of the unit, this can bee seen on 5012/5019:

while the unit i am interested in (doing CR yellow/blue model) 5022, i am assuming that it has the piping however the only roof detail pic ive found:
http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPi ... x?id=63560

the piping is on the left which is obscured. is it safe to assume since 5022 --> NH 2022 that it still had the roof piping in the late 70s?

The Roof piping was only on first 30 units I believe the rear shorter pipe is intercooler for electric compressor mounted above steam generator.
The long pipe next to radiator fans is intercooler for WABCO compressor located just above rear of front truck.
