I was watching the first episode of Deadliest Catch- the show on the Discovery Channel about crab fishermen in Alaska. While the camera was in a truck following the travels of one of the fisherman around Dutch Harbor, they drove over what looked to be a railroad crossing, with gates and lights(off). I tried using Google maps on the area, zoomed in tight, and didn't see any sign of trackage. I believe Dutch Harbor to be on an island. Could there be a railroad on that island?

Not exactly. At one time much of Dutch Harbor was part of the military base back in the 40's and I think into the 50's. Records show that they had a small railroad there that was used to move supplies and munitions around, but that's about it. Maybe a mile or two of track, little else.
