Croton North Yard

Hello to all,

I had taken Amtrak's Lake Shore Limit from NYC to Chicago and back. I noticed north of MN Croton-Harmon shops is a freight yard. I believe in the NYC era it was called Croton North. Does anyone know how to get there from NYC, how much freight activity come out of the yard?

The yard referred to at Croton is known as "Croton West Yard". It is
owned and operated by CSX. The last I knew, there were two locals
operated out of that yard, a day job to do the work on the Hudson and a
night job that works as directed on all three lines of Metro-North.
