covered hoppers in savannah, ny

anyone know what the deal is with all of the empty CSX Covered Hoppers siting in Savannah, NY?? There is a Mexican Rail (Lorimex) with in that cut as well as an ex BN Car both remarked for NOKL.

these are being stored in preparation for the fall harvest traffic boom. Storing cars in conveniant central locations makes them easier to forward where needed on short notice.

I did not think of that one. I recall seeing at leased 3 or 4 Cargill unit train movements as well as 2 full BNSF trains with in the past 2 or 3 months.

there are a few unit grain trains and opposite empties which traverse through NY on CSX. Fall gets particular busy and to help CSX has begun prestaging empties for the past couple years
