:-) Hi everyone.

The Canadian National must be sold his northern Quebec route from Montreal to the Northwestern Quebec close to the Quebec-Ontario border and The Lake St.John Region to the Quebec's Capital Province to the private interests to make short lines on this rail link.

The CN links are the St.Laurent,Riviere des Prairies,Joliette,Garneau,La Tuque,St.Maurice and finally Lake St.John Subs.

Because from Montreal's Oil Rafineries from the Riviere des Prairies yard to the Northern Quebec and Quebec City, there are only four trains pass each days on this rail link.

So,exemple Genesee & Wyoming could be taken this rail link or other short line rail carriers companies who are interested to take that CN rail link.

What do you think ?

Allo Sylvain,

I don't know about this. In CN's three year plan (in English) they intend to continue operations on all lines in Northern Quebec. Would a short line operator such as Genesee and Wyoming be able to generate any more traffic than CN already carries?

:-) Allo Monsieur Ken.

I see all CN lines in Quebec were kept. Even those rail lines who are the least profitable.

Among those rail lines who are the least profitable it is the Rouses Point,Montreal,Valleyfield,Swanton subs from Cantic,QC to NECR Italy Yard in St.Albans,VT.

And Sorel and La Tuque subs included Massena Sub from Brossard to Delson,QC.

Especially Joliette,Lac St-Jean and St-Maurice subs to Northwestern Quebec included Val d'Or,Chapais subs.
