Hi
I have two NYC lettered auto rack cars, Accurail HO models, one tri level and one two level. Tri level reporting mark is TTRX 962555 built 9-69 and two level TTRX 962578 built 10-69.
Question: Did NYC painted this cars jade green and lettered NYC although PC merger has happened in Feb 1968? In which lot belongs the cars, or was them leased?

Unfortuneately for us NYC modelers there is not a correct car for us, I have the Accurails because they are there.
Answer to your question - they put the wrong info on for a NYC car.
Oh the joys of modeling!!

Bi Levels on TTX cars were:
BTTX 913175-913276
BTTX 913357-913416
BTTX 913519-913596 all Blt '66

Tri Levels on TTX cars were:
KTTX 902745-902844 Blt '65
KTTX 903517-903566 Blt '66
KTTX 903620-903719 Blt '66
KTTX 903828-903837 Blt '66

All other autoracks were on MDAX or NIFX flats with NYC's own version of a rack. These were oxide red in the early sixties w/ oval heralds (white / black background)then all Century green with cigar band heralds.

Brian, thank you for the info.
Any hint to kitbash, or just leave "NYC like".

Hannu,
I'm just leaving the Accurail cars as is, too much work involved. Atleast I have some NYC autoracks. Besides I haven't seen a picture of the ones on TTX cars.
As for the MDAX & NIFX cars they were a whole different breed, no available flat that I know of, car would have to be scratchbuilt. if we could find some drawings.
Maybe if were are lucky, one of those resin kit makers will do it!
