Filming HELLO DOLLY on The Hudson Division

Post by greenwichlirr » Thu Mar 11, 2010 8:08 am

Just saw HELLO DOLLY on cable a few days ago, and was happily picking out the various scenes along The Hudson line where Penn Central gave them space to film (Poughkeepsie, Garrison, etc.)

I've seen scattered B&W pics of the special equipment taken around the vicinity during the time of the filming, but was anyone out trackside in the area during the filming to snag any color shots or 8MM/16MM run-bys?

I also have to wonder how much harder these scenes would have been if the NYC and the Pennsy hadn't been consolidated by then, since the equipment moves were (I'm sure) made easier based on the fact that the rollingstock came from PA (from what I recall).
