Sped by too quickly just now to take any photos, but I noticed those two old OB’s in the nether reaches of the Holban Yard are finally on their way out. Both cars were lifted off their trucks and on flatbed transport cars.

My guess is the scrapper’s torch…

I76: Where in Holban Yard were the two O/B cars that you are referring to?

Were these the two baggage/work cars in the south end of the Yard area adjacent to St.Albans Station
or are these former W cars similar to the car that Twin Forks Chapter has stored in the Riverhead Yard?

If these are the two baggage/work cars they may be finally being put out of their misery after years of
suffering from the elements and their unfortunate share of vandalism...MACTRAXX

I believe the only ones left are the baggage/work conversions.

I really, really hope someone goes through them and checks to see if anything's left from their time holding parts in Holban that could be useful for the museums on the island.

I believe these were the cars at Dunkirk

EVERYONE: Yes, the Dunkirk section of Holban just near St. Albans.

Definitely feels like euthanasia at this point given their decrepit condition.

They are on flatcars, which are in the consist of the outbound CSX turn back to Oak Point, and just crossed over the L.I.R.R. mainline at 12:00 noon a few minutes ago.

Heading to Frontier?

Presumably; that's where the first one out went.
