Typo or are loaded racks moving both es
East and westbound?
  by NHV 669

Not at all... they were right towards the front of the train, as opposed to the empties that are required to be placed towards the rear of the consist, according to the train marshaling procedures for those guys.

I believe the same was the case with last Saturday's 121, as not all of the 44 racks were at the rear of the train.

Some port news:

https://www.country94.ca/2024/05/16/por ... warehouse/

Also Keith Creel hinted at SJ benefitting from the Gemini cooperation starting in February with Hapag & Maersk.

Port days is in 2 weeks with CPKC as a headliner (CN also participating) so should hear some news from that.

What is the explanation for loaded racks moving west? Is there a test of vehicle imports in sj? Or merely a mistake- incorrect racks sent east being returned west?
  by CN9634

They periodically load autos going west, likely cars that have sat on a lot for a while or trade-ins/lease returns heading to other markets. This is a regular part of the automotive business.

Neither train running today. 3rd day in a row without a 121... but traffic is "growing".

CP doing a hell of a job pissing away efficiency.

There were a couple of vessel omissions from SJ as they were changing out ships in the rotation. The plan was to clear out the terminal as it was starting to build up grounded boxes again... should see things pick up again next week or two
