Derailment Incident - 393(28)

393 (28), Saluki, was involved in a grade X-ing incident at University Park (within METRA Electric territory). While the vehicle's driver was a fatality, only minor injuries are reported amongst the passengers. The Charger locomotive and five of six cars (H-Bag axle car was standing) derailed, apparently sustaining "noticeable" damage:

Is this equipment going to be out of service for repairs and how long ? Amtrak does not need any more out of service equipment !

what was impressive is little front end damage compared to what was left of ford f350 .

That will depend on if any of the injured people on board sue Amtrak for $$$$$$$
that's when legal dept puts an hold on repaIrs untill the suits are settled(collect/preserve evidence).
