Royce Runner upgrade?

I see welded rail is laid out next to the runner and a work train was in Manville yesterday. Is the "Royce" going to be automated at some point?

There were several crews working between Valley and Roycefield Roads last week, it looked like they were putting in a new turnout.

five old MOW gons are spotted in the rarely used siding in Manville, 40 to 50 years old each. welded rail was dropped next to the main track at that spot. I may get out on my bike tomorrow and check it out more closely.
