I don't think the MTA or the Governor's office have released detailed plans for this version yet. The central branch as badly needed as it is, will continue to be a sore subject. The biggest mistake came when the LIRR allowed the line from Flushing to Floral Park to be abandoned. The only direct East/West bypass of the Jamaica hub gone and having no chance to ever be restored as its all neighbo...

If the engineer got into a car accident and was almost killed on the way to work, why does the public need to know this??? Equipment problem is just fine thank you. It is an equipment problem because there is no one to operate the equipment and that is a problem. But "equipment problem" h...

I though the Harold Interlocking project was finished. Far from it. The MTA is building the Eastbound Bypass and Westbound Bypass tunnels. Right now, Amtrak trains traveling from the Hell Gate Line to East River Tunnels 1 and 2 have to cross over LIRR trains, but these grade-separated tunnels will ...

Don't forget two weeks ago there was a broken rail at Westbury. Coincidentally the same day Cuomo unveiled plans to finish the Main Line 3rd track. :-)

It's only going to stretch from 50 St/8 Av to around Union Turnpike. I guess at the moment the MTA doesn't see the need to cover anywhere else.
Here's the latest update from October (page 17)

Ironically, the MTA seems to partially blame Amtrak for delays with the Harold Bypass work, claiming that Amtrak is not providing support and outages when the MTA needs it to do work in the interlocking. You're half right. The Babylon Branch does have higher ridership than the Huntington and Ronkonkoma Branches, but because the Babylon branch has so much service, trains to Babylon are on average less crowded than trains to Huntington and Ronkonkoma. Unfortunately, I don't really see things getting b...

The MTA will run extra service tomorrow before and after the parade for the U.S. Women's Soccer Team. The schedule for eastbound trains after the parade looks mostly normal, but there's one an interesting westbound train: Leaving Farmingdale, and making all stops at Queens Village, then Jamaica. So ...
