I love Photoshop, and clearly have too much time on my hands. :P With the lockdown, many of us have too much time on our hands, Charlie. Perhaps a little levity will brighten our day. Mr. Bond is no doubt after that evil villain Hojack. That estate he's leaving is far from Rome, but may be near Gre...
The tiny double girder span over the driveway at 400 Lake Rd (at "Oklahoma Beach" a bit west of Bay Rd. Webster) is now gone. The location is being excavated/opened up. I can understand why and maybe it wasn't far from falling down, but another tiny piece of the "Old Hojack" is g...
After he rolls out of view, the westbound CSX train begins to move and he also had one locomotive on the rear end of the train. Is this a new "thing?" I don't think I've ever seen this many trains with one loco up front and one on the back end. Whatever works I guess. It's new within the ...
I never knew Mr. Carlson, but was so familiar with him over the past 15-plus years on this site. Wishing his family and friends prayers and warm thoughts. Godspeed.

That was great, Mr. Tree. Merry Christmas to you and yours, and to everyone here. Be safe, warm and here's to a better 2021. ❄

2020 sure has been cruel. Be safe, everyone.

That's sad to hear. I really enjoyed Henry's posts over the years, particularly the most recent ones about NYC coal country in the state of PA. Prayers for his family, friends and loved ones.

Yes, the track is long overgrown at Stonewood Ave. It might be close to 15 years since Matthews & Field received service. The current end of track is just before Dewey Ave. crossing, which is paved over. The CSX crossing is still in service, of course.

Sad to see it gone. Like the song says, "Time marches on....time marches on" Just amazing to see how much has vanished in way less than a lifetime. :( Going back a bit more than a lifetime: I used to have a small book put out for the centennial of... Hamlin maybe? It noted that during har...
It's been almost two years since the last post. CSX has been taking up rail in the old "West Yard" in Charlotte, all that remains is one track that connects to the hand-thrown switch just east of Greenleaf Rd. The track crossing Greenleaf to the west is still intact as far as I know. I hav...
