They have never locked them on any train I have been on and we use commuter rail often, even more so with the 10.00 unlimited weekend fare.

Most of the MBTA cars are battle-worn and not comfy for long periods of time to sit in,also NO BATHROOMS! Are you confusing MBTA Commuter Rail and SEPTA ?? MBTA Commuter Rail trains have bathrooms, SEPTAs do not. I would hardly call the bi level coaches battle worn, and the older single level cars ...

Amtrak has finally updated the Dining Car information page on it's website. For the LD trains that offer full dining car service the national menu is shown. For the LD trains that offer a different menu like the Auto Train, Cardinal, and CONO they are listed on their own, as well as the Capital and ...

The topic of SEPTA's non-electrified lines often comes up, and the fact that areas left without train service had to turn to bus services, or a lengthly drive to the nearest SEPTA station. Beiber Bus Lines was one company that provided service to many of these areas, and it suspended operations on F...

I just went onto the MBTA trip planner. The shortest trip between Bowdoin and Charles/MGH is walking. It is 9 minutes and only 0.5 mile. You can also walk 0.1 to Government Center, then it is an 11 minute trip. If you build the Red-Blue connector for $$$$ you get no new stations. Is there bus servi...
