Speaking of platforms, I noticed that some of the platforms have gauntlet rails laid around them.
Am I correct in assuming that this is for MOW equipment only - and is temporary?

Wasn't Pent Highway the original pilot for wayside horns once upon a time which annoyed the natives? I believe there were complaints on all of them. Very funny because the wayside horns play a very loud K5LA 14L sound file on loop the whole time the crossing is activated whether there's a train pre...

I suspect that HRCC is no longer in the catbird seat since the state purchased the line. My guess is that the Housy would not be involved in any such service. They would just be "asked" to host it. Who knows - this may have all been part of the negotiated purchase of the line? It will be i...

I agree with some of what you say airman, but I suspect that Hein had help fighting the CMRR from the state level. It just does not ring true to me for some reason that he was that 'powerful' on his own. If what I'm thinking is correct, then him leaving for a state job will likely mean no change at ...

I can only reiterate that it is a shame this magnificently engineered piece of railroad was deemed by Conrail to be non-essential. I agree. I found Chuck Walsh's video series on the cutoff highly informative regarding why Conrail not only did not want it, but why they wanted it ripped up as well. I...
