Anybody know where the BL2's are headed?
Gone where? It was still in North Creek yard on August 29th. I have not heard of anything moving off the property via the Saratoga interchange with CP.
Also a false statement on Page 3 of the July 23rd filing. It states 80 carloads of stone were moved for use on the SNC. The carloads actually went to Massachusetts for use on a different IP property.
With all the issues in the world to worry about, I am glad to see NYS busy spending taxpayer money and legal resources to try and abandon a rail line that has seen active service in the last few years. Some stone did ship from Tahawus and at least 3 carloads shipped from Barton. Like was earlier sta...
Are the schedules for this summer drastically cut back? I heard that there are no runs to Big Moose and limited local service out of Thendara. Any one know why the cutbacks?
Back in the mid to late 1980's International Multifoods was a big covered hopper customer right in Baldwinsville at the Rt 31 crossing.
Anyone know the history on this car before Conrail painted it up as their Mohawk-Hudson Training Car? I assume it is ex NYC, ex PC.
As a replacement for Schenectady, this station location was a joke. And that was likely the intent of NYC or PC. But with the growth of the suburbs, this is actually a pretty good location. It is literally the mid point between Schenectady and Albany on Central Ave (Rt 5). It was easily accessible t...

At least 3 hi-cube boxcars have been loaded and shipped out of Barton since SNC opened the line north of North Creek. They ship some sort of garnet abrasive in super sacks. There is no siding there but one could be installed on the back side of the building. There is plenty of room. There is a very ...
After seeing that article, things don't sound great, but the trail group used this situation to jump way ahead to a conclusion that is yet to happen.
Hopefully somebody figures out a way to save this great line.
Over on the trail nuts Facebook propaganda page, Steve T from the S&NC called this fake news. It was not completely clear what went on at the Warren County meeting based on Steve's post but there is still positive energy at Iowa Pacific with respect to moving the tailings. However, as far as I c...
Your posts are very optimistic to say the least.. Not that I doubt you, but hopefully they can get them operational in less then 3 months time.. Like Dutch said, do they have a Star Trek transporter to send Beech Grove to Albany?? I am not aware of exactly what capabilities Rensselaer has. I though...
Albany Times Union had an article yesterday with the following information... Engineers and conductors are also being trained to travel the Metro North line into Grand Central. Amtrak also is looking for spare FL-9 locomotives to lease or borrow because they have a door on the front through which an...
Basically, the S&NC has a contract to move the tailings out of the mine at Tawahus. Actually, the article states that the SNC has signed a contract that runs through 2019 to haul loads from Barton Mines in North River to the CP connection in Saratoga and on to Virginia Beach. It also states Pau...
