last I saw was less than a road brakeman. not very much at all.

i heard 160 a trip ,,,, no overtime only after 80 hrs,,,,, not sure how there suppose to live on that for 6 months

Well, if you want the promotion then you have to play the game. I did it in 2005 for the UP and then again with Amtrak in 2007. Make the most of it and enjoy the benefits of working in the cab vs. on the ground lining switches in the cold/heat, walking to the back of your 8900' train, etc.

we all did it, at some point. and hundreds of guys do it every year. if you wanna play, you have to pay.... :P

It used to be $686/week...no held away, no meals, ot only after 80 hours on duty. Usually a net check every two weeks was about $850. You tough it out...bad agreement though.
