Unscheduled train....?

Sunday the 23rd, at approximately 3:30pm, I saw an eastbound Port Jervis Line train between Harriman and Tuxedo. As it so happens there aren't any scheduled trains going east between 12:00 and 4:30 on weekends. Does anybody know what happened that day?

Possibly a dead head. Just because there is nothing in the schedule doesn't mean trains don't move.

It may not be in the public timetable, but it would be in the employee timetable.

A scheduled deadhead move back to Hoboken
