Does any know if Amtrak is planning on renovating their station in Sacramento, Ca?
I thought that something was in the works but cannot find anything, on the web or on the Amtrak site, which would indicate a renovation is planned or in progress.
The "old" station, if it hasn't been remodeled, was awful. You not only didn't like to enter the station, but the rest-rooms were a disaster. I felt like I needed a formaldehyde shower, for decontamination purposes, after going into the men's room.
Considering the historic aspects of the railroad in the Sacramento area, I think a first-class, renovated SAC station would be much appreciated. Also, a first-rate Amtrak stn. would be nice as the Calif. Railroad Museum is in walking distance of the SAC station.
