Actually, the night shot isn't that unique. There were quite a few photographers at the night shoot. What is unique is how I got the shot. I have a point and shoot camera that has no option to hold the shutter open. I actually had to take video and then edit out individual frames as photos. Totally unorthodox, and a little crazy, but it sort of worked. (This method is good for catching lightning- you can actually see the bolt progressing through several frames)
I would check some of the railroad photo sites- maybe someone else who was at the night shoot will post their pics.
