I've mentioned this movie in a couple of other posts and recently stumbled across a website dedicated to the movie.

For those of you not familiar, the plot revolves around a branchline that serves Titfield with a daily train. When British Rail threatens to close the line, the townspeople take over the operation. A local bus company provideds competition (and chicanery) and while parts of the plot are rather implausible, it is a genuinely enjoyable movie, even moreso if you love steam.

The line used in the production of the movie was an ex-Great Western branchline that ran between Limpley Stoke and Camerton eith the town of Monkton Combe appearing as Titfield. (Can anyone help us out with a geography lesson of Great Britain?) The primary locomotive used in the movie was a Great Western 0-4-2T, class 14xx. The line passed under the Somerset and Dorset Railway and viewers are treated to scenes of steam from this railroad as well.
