There is a turn of the century brick building north of Fordham on the Webster Ave. side. What is this building? It's boarded up and has, what looks like, a very large door facing south.

Is this railroad property? Was there some sort of yard here at one time? I tried a search, but no luck.

Try these sites, you might find some shots:

It might have either been an entrance to an el station, or a sub-station, or both. I seem to remember some sidings leading off to it years ago that would have been pulled up back in the 80's. Maybe it was a lumber yard or something.

I recall seeing something on this on another thread, too, about abandoned sidings.

If you are referring to the buildings west of the tracks just off Webster Avenue, this used to be a sub station and also the Fordham freight house for the New York Central Railroad. This was the location of Fordham Yard.
