From a look at location information this picture turned out to be **OCEANSIDE**...There is an LI Railroader
article from November 5, 1959 with other demolition photos showing the crane used in action...
The other pictures and information are located in the Long Beach Branch stations page...

I knew that this was not Hicksville Station - which was a larger center-of-town station in a much more
built-up area - the key was at least a partial brick building with a bay window as shown...

Steve - It turns out that you already had this answer somewhere among the station photos/listings...
This gave me a little research material to work with and to look up...MACTRAXX

Looking at the roof vent in the demo photo it does not match Oceanside pictures, for example:

View the roof line of the house in center right background. Not the same as the demo photo in question.
