Also I talked to a septa worker on instagram about the Silverliner 6/Multi level EMU and he said that septa is not buying that cause that would require millions of dollars to spent on redoing all the tunnels especially university city tunnel that dumps into 30th street station and the suburban to jefferson southern limit curve
They would not need to do anything to the tunnels because the the multilevel EMU's, whatever they end up being, fit within the same clearance envelopes as the multilevel push-pull coaches currently on order. Weight might be more of a concern, however.

Not sure how I missed the notification for this one, but oh well. Anyway, no, Silverliner VI is NOT the tack-on option SEPTA has on the back of the NJT Bombardier order. The option is there, but SEPTA has no obligation to use it, either. As of now, regarding Silverliner VI, literally anything still goes at this time... and funding is not yet identified for an order.
