This mornings ED9 stalled at Ashburnham and 22K gave them an assist up the hill. ED9 was 39 cars, 15 double stack trash for 150 loads of trash.

At Athol they overtook another ED9 which has been canned at Tyters since Saturday morning. 1 1/2 miles of train mostly trash and racks.

They could prob run a dedicated trash train at this point, if they had crews.

Yep, the P&W and EDPO traffic is getting the shaft for sure. The Ayer train needs to be a dedicated job it has gotten so big. I hope there is still enough for whoever operates PAS after they've pissed away all the new traffic due to lack of crews

That's happening a lot recently with the crew shortages. The P&W is getting the shaft waiting for EDPO to maybe drop and pick up.

As I made my way west on the Mohawk Trail on Sunday morning 9/26/21 from I-495 to Greenfield MA, I captured 2 of 3 trains known to be tied down on PAS. First up was ED-8 whose crew had just finished tieing down at CPF-333 Wachusett at 0735 or so. I missed the ED-9 in long term parking at Tyters but caught a POED sitting at Millers Falls at 0844. But there was movement west end as the dispatcher reported around 0900 that 11R was meeting 16R at Buckland.

As of 1800hrs tonight there is 3 ED8's between Ayer and Deerfield.
1 sitting at San Vel with loaded rax.
2 sitting canned at Gardner with Fitchs and Ayers.
3 is climbing the hill at Royalston.

10 Loaded trash doubles in Fitch (100 containers), along with around 30 EDFLDS.
Around 50 EDFLDS on the W Main.
Camp was stuffed with empty trash containers.
EDPO this morning was all Nashuas and Lawrence's, 98 cars, no Rigbys.

Are these parked trains due to Vax mandate impacts on crew availability?

That deadline isn't until December, if that even applies to PAR who only moves the occasional load for a government entity. This crew shortage has been going on for over 6 months. There has been much discussion reading this where I noted PAS specifically has lost around 30 crew members for various reasons.

I posted a comment on an NS fan Facebook page that NS might deploy crews or staff to help PAS run trains and an NS person replied that NS didn’t have enough personnel to operate their own trains let alone PAS trains.

Yes that appears to be the case.
