I have this poor photo: LIRR MOW Gondola Sayville 1980's. Info: 1972 The final date for ACI labels required in interchange.
They were abandoned as impractical in 1978. After 1978 the plates could be removed, but many were never removed; as in this example above.
This model by Al Castelli, would appear to be late 1980's As of July 1, 1974. On that date the two part COTS, with the lub info, became mandatory with a deadline of 1979 for application to all cars.
Anyone with other photos, info, etc. as to document these gons. Thank you.
