This evening (7/26) saw WPCA-20 on its return trip to Camden, waiting out an NJ Transit train at CP JORDAN. This junction is where the Hainesport Industrial Track and Atlantic City Line converge at about the Park Ave grade crossing in Pennsauken.

No sooner did I arrive and scout a location, did Atlantic City Line train #4634 round the curve at speed, bound for Philadelphia....

The Norfolk Southern Railroad Heritage Unit was spotted this afternoon (8/4) coming out of Pavonia Yard as a DPU on NS 39G.

DPUs are fairly uncommon for this area. But since the railroad has been combining trains lately (NS 60N (loaded steel slabs) & NS 39G (empty manifest) in today's case), trains are becoming increasingly longer and heavier. Today's 39G was just shy of 100 cars.

Anyway, here are a pair of shots of the Heritage Unit, NS #8114:

Paired up with NS #7535:

WPCA51 ran the loaded 780 coal train from Beesley's Point today. This is the second train exporting coal from the closed plant and could possibly be one of the last times coal will ever be moved on the line again.

RAPU 1, a Chessie rail train, came in three days ago with six lengths of rail. Two were dropped on the port track at Paulsboro and two on the Delair Branch. Today, the other two lengths were dropped on the Hatch Industrial Track in Pennsauken. Afterward, the train shoved back and down the New Leg of Wye, through CP Hatch and to Cove Road. After letting a few MofW guys off, they got permission to head out to RG in Philly.

CSX 8116 was used for power-

On the point of 9/18's WPCA-20 was CSX GP40-2 #6213 (ex Western Maryland, built in 1978) & NS GP38-2 #5287 (ex Penn Central, built in 1973). Seen here head for Hainesport, passing the PRR built Maple Shade station:

Here is the last coal train that will ever run on the Beesleys, at the dismal remains of the once very busy Williamstown Jct.-
