I don't think they are done with the 7470, someone mention to me the other day, that they still need to coverup the middle dome and the steam pipes down by the pistons. Also 7470 will need to have its fire dumped at some point to head into the paint booth. I imagine they will want all that done before heading to Hazen's, no?

Neither of us really can appreciate the amount of work that it takes to make it all happen at the Conway Scenic. The roundhouse is often full with work going on, with a waiting list of who is next in line. To assume that they "have time" is unrealistic

7470 needs the insulation and wrapper installed inside the cab, plus some final painting.

I just looked at the tickets for the June 29th Planes, Trains and Automobile event. It has an option for tickets for the Rhonda Lee dome car. Now are they getting the Rhonda Lee added while in Hazens or will they get it ahead of time?

I guess it all depends on on how soon NHC finishes fixing the washout or washouts that occurred on their line. The Conway Scenic had a sizable one along side Ammonoosuc Lake, not sure if they are still working on that. I thought someone reported they've already been to Hazen's, not sure if it was with a train or high rail truck. If it was a train the washout must be fixed.

Dick, great info, thanks! But, uh, aren't you a bit young to be on the AARP mailing list?

It sounds like its going to be a really good time, I'm so mad that I'm going to miss this, for a stupid wedding that I don't even want to go to (for other reason). Will it be the Cotton Valley Rail Trail Club, that is providing the speeders for this event? I really hope this becomes a yearly event with the Conway Scenic.

Well, if you haven't already heard or seen on facebook, 7470 will be making its official debut Saturday, June 29th for the Trains, Planes and Automobile Event.

1751 completed the first leg of the pickup, arriving at Hazens just after 1630, where it was shutdown for the night upon arrival. The old Chevy highrail ran ahead of them for the duration. They stopped at Crawfords, to pick up the excavator used to assist in repairing the washout west of the station.
