I’m guessing the next schedule change will be daylight savings? Can anyone else confirm?
Lansdale/Doylestown line can definitely use a push-pull especially for few of their express trains especially the afternoon express 6576 which does express from Temple University to North Wales.
ZS: Push-Pull trains operating on the Lansdale-Doylestown Line in the past have had three major
problems that caused SEPTA to withdraw them from operation each time they were scheduled:
1-The trains ran consistently late and was not able to adequately hold the schedule.
2-There were complaints about the motor noise from neighbors around the Doylestown Yard.
3-The power limitations of the small substation on the Doylestown Branch.
A new push-pull peak hour express service to Doylestown could be: (PM Peak)
North Wales (first stop), Pennbrook, Lansdale, Colmar, Chalfont, New Britain and Doylestown.
Reverse expresses (similar to what is operated on the Wilmington-Newark Line) can be added to
run the P/P equipment to/from to Center City making those same stops along with Ambler and/or
Fort Washington if the decision is made to not store push-pull train(s) overnight in Doylestown.
This would add extra reverse commuter options for the Lansdale-Doylestown Line.
