Santa Fe “Merger”/Take-Over of The Erie-Lackawanna

Years ago, during the mid-1980’s, I spoke to a train crew waiting in the old yard office in Meadville, PA,who dated back to the E-L who said that there was some pretty legitamate talk of this happening back in the late 60’s or early 70’s....As with the
D.L &W and NKP, there is always more..or less...to the story...Any information on this?

Yes there was a study done dated May 30, 1975 by Santa Fe.
