I had a really fun time in Coal City, Illinois today. I saw a lot of good power on the BNSF. Trains move really fast through there. Track speed is 70 MPH for intermodals. Here is what I saw:
1. BNSF GEVO 7682, ONE NUMBER AWAY from a New Logo, leading a Santa Fe Warbonnet on an Eastbound Intermodal.
2. BNSF 5013, leading a Santa Fe Warbonnet and two BNSF H2 Dash 9's on a Westbound Stack Train.
3. UP 9518, leading an NS GP60, and a GSCX Leaser SD40-2 on a Westbound Autorack.
4. BNSF 4757, leading two more BNSF H2 Dash 9's on a Westbound Stack Train.
5. This one was very nice. Conrail SD60 6713, still in Conrail Paint, leading an NS Dash 9 on a Westbound Stacker. The Conrail had an awesome horn!
6. BNSF 509, leading a BNSF Ex-SF C40-8W and a pair of BN Green SD40-2's on a Westbound Manifest.
The BNSF had a lot of foreign power today!
Edit: I also saw a Chessie System Caboose on the way home.
