I’m trying to get any information on the enginehouse/roundhouse facilities that existed in Scranton in the “Flats” section.

This facility was essentially, where a baseball diamond sits today, just a tad east of today’s 3rd Avenue at Luzerne Street. Any history, articles, books, links or photos would be greatly appreciated!!

I am also going to send this same request to the Anthracite Railroads T&HS and the Jersey Central Chapter NRHS.

Thanks in advance for any information anyone can provide.

The JCRHS does not have anything in our archives about this facility.

I don't know what kind of info you are looking for but the sanborn insurance maps are available.
Search the penn state archives and there are maps from 1920. You want volume two and I believe its page 152 has the turntable, roundhouse and yard facilities. have fun.

That is a MUCH better map than I had, THANKS!

I am hoping to find more photos of the area as well.

Does anyone know what that facility was called by the CNJ?

I believe it was called broadway. If you search for the old "black diamonds to tidewater" website there are a few pictures of the facility but there are'nt many pictures of it.
