It's definitely built on an EMD frame with Type B trucks, SW/MP cab and EMD fuel tank. It also sports an Alco RS-3 type cooling fan. Talk about the ultimate hybrid.
Reminds me of NJT's MP20 switchers rebuilt from GP40FHs, though they have nothing of their GP40 character left since stripped and built new from frame/platform up.
Since my friend continues to chain smoke nonstop, she is probably an Alco.
80 was tested today pulling a push pull set to Frazer Yard and return. The manufacturer had to repair a few defects found in previous test runs. Not sure if it passed this time and is "officially" accepted by SEPTA.
