It seems that the engines CMSL is leasing is in preparation for their NJSL service from Lakehurst to Woodmansie is the track rehab up there ever comes to conclusion.

I thought that might be case however Tuckahoe seems to be odd location to stage those locos unless they're planning to redo the Southern Secondary all the way to Winslow. The Woodmansie work seems to be on hold once again but that's a topic for the other thread.

CMSL kicked off their Santa train with the Santa Express Limited, a one-hour round trip with limited attention span little kiddies in mind, for whom the regular Santa train trips are too long. The short turns ran out of Tuckahoe on Saturday and will run from Richland on Sunday.
GMTX 2015 was on the south end with GMTX 2661 on the north end.
The 11 AM train short turn was just north of the Dorothy firehouse.

I and my wife were on the 2:30 train yesterday. Nice to see the freshly-painted GP-38's.

Hate to see them go as they are two classy looking units, not to mention that I have the 87:1 versions on my railroad. Can anyone confirm where they are actually headed? I have seen references to North Carolina and Iowa Central. Also, is the HEP still functional on one or both of them?

If they have SLRG markings, the F units are likely being leased to The San Luis & Rio Grande Railroad (SLRG), part of Iowa Pacific. More details on the railroad can be found at website below. Be sure to click on the live video link to their yard. Maybe we'll see the F units there one day?

UPDATE!
-The two "LV" F units were separated this afternoon at Pavonia Yard. #578 was sent to the engine house, presumably for some sort of repair work, while #576 left South Jersey on CSX C759 around 4:30pm.

-Seen here trailing on C759 along Cleveland Ave in the last rays of sunlight:

-Roster of SLRG #576:

They are leased by URHS to the Iowa Pacific for operation by the Piedmont and Northern for use in North Carolina.
