Another video, with a better broadside view

Think the Charger is 2 feet lower than the P42 next to it?

Why did anyone want it to be 12 ft 6 inches high? What's the point?

They look like the same height as the P-42's,the SC-44 roof is not as arched as the P-42's are.
This video is a better broadside view of the SC-44's

don't look at roof, lookat shit that sticks out of them, the Charger has nearly flat top, the P42 has several bumps.

If an SC-44 is moved to Baltimore starting this weekend for test runs on the NEC for MARC, there could be multiple opportunities to record videos and compare the height of the SC-44 to P-42s and a bunch of different locomotives and cars. Could get dozens of posts on this!

They can't be done at the test center yet,maybe in Sept.

4th charger shipped for NEC testing, in this video it starts with a long distance shot, it clearly shows the height difference between Genesis at 14'6" and Charger at 12'6"

Honestly it looks as if the charger is a few inches taller than the Viewliner bag which is 14 feet IIRC.

I'll agree. Here's what I found with just a quick Google search:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siemens_Charger" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Siemens Charger
Height 12 ft 6 in (3.81 m) (roof), 14 ft 4 in (4.37 m) (roof shroud)

While I distrust Wiki in being exactly correct, their data is usually based on data on that pages references list.
While the roof height is 12.5 feet, the shroud height is 14.33 feet. I'm not sure why there is a difference?

Likely the height of 12.5 feet is the height from frame to roof? While the "shroud height" is from top of rail to top of carbody?

Viewliners are not 14 feet high. there are roof vents on them that are much higher.

can't be more than 6" or its Poof in NYP

From this video, it looks like the Charge locos have a slightly shorter height than MARC Kawaski BiLevels.
Those Kawaskai cars are 15.5 feet tall, per data listed at http://www.kawasakirailcar.com/CT_MARC111" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

So I'm thinking the 14.33 feet is the correct number for the height of a Charger loco.

Good find! Nice to see video from inside of the SC-44 running at 108 to 109 mph as seen on the speed display.

#4604 was moved east on the CL last night and should have arrived at WAS this afternoon. So videos of the Charger doing test runs on the NEC shouldn't be far off after it presumably goes through a review and inspection process by Amtrak.

WHY ARE PEOPLE SO CONCERNED ABOUT THE HEIGHT????

They said its designed to meet the amtrak specs, so it should fit in the tunnels. Get over it lol. Well find out when it does clearance testing on the NEC.
