Considering that the LIRR primarily no longer had means to "turn" a train or car by means of Wye or Turntable at many terminals, getting only 1 plow was a huge failure. They should have bough at Least 2 "darth" and "vader". This would permit them to place however many locomotives between the pair as neeeed and they can turn the consist the same way they turn passenger trains having a plow end on both sides.
Just because you open the line going east, it might not remain open going west!
And it also provides for Moves in the direction the 1 unit wasn't set up to run on a point to point operation.
