I am looking for the name(s) of the divisions/subdivsions of CPR in New York state and their geographical end points. Any confirmed radio channel information for the subdivisons and yards would be great.

CP is selling its Freight and Sunbury Subs (Sunbury Sub is Sunbury to Binghampton, Freight is Binghampton to just north of Albany) to NS, so operations will be changed w/in the next few months..
For current trains, I'd look here:

And here is a timetable:
http://palter.org/~brotzman/Misc/CP_Nor ... 1-2007.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
For discussion of the NS takeover:

http://www.railroad.net/forums/viewtopi ... 55&t=51511" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.railroad.net/forums/viewtopi ... 8&t=156305" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Hope this helped!

Questions regarding the area north of Oneonta...I notice that somewhere around Central Bridge, a line splits off and goes under the 88. On approaching Schnectady, there is a line parallel to 88 for a few minutes in the area of the toll booths.

Which is active? Which will NS use? Do they both lead to the yard in Colonie (I think that's where it is). Occasionally travel that area and am curious.

Thanks for any help.

The line that branches-off near Central Bridge (Delanson to be exact) would be the old Albany Main to Kenwood, now only going as far as the Guilderland Center.

The line parallel to 88 near the toll booths is CP (ex-D&H), the Freight Main, Binghamton to Schenectady from which the Albany Main branched in Delanson.

NS will use the Freight Main, but drop loads for Guilderland Center.
