That High Bridge train caused people in Middletown, NJ who came for the 10:12am train to get the 11:12 instead. It also caused grief all over the Newark Division on NJT and also on Amtrak I suspect.
The article says "There's no word why the train lost power." It occurred coming off the Lehigh Line at Hunter, maybe with an Alp 45. Don't they pull (or push) all the trains on the Raritan Line these days?

It was not an ALP-45 that failed.

I was on a NE regional train that got held up by that just outside Newark. Then our train lost power. Just as the conductor was announcing that we were stuck and they were calling a rescue engine we got going again. Phew.

There was more than one broken down train that morning.
