Is insurance available to cover diminution in value of locomotives, rolling stock and equipment?

Say I buy an old railcar or locomotive that's not rebuilt. Say parts become unavailable and the railcar or locomotive can no longer be operated. Then it's basically junk.

Is there a type of insurance that could protect against that risk? Would rail insurers offer custom policies to protect against that?

Thanks.

You're basically seeking insurance to cover you butt for making a poor investment. If what you intend to purchase may not be practical to restore at least know what the potential scrap value is and start from there. Don't over pay for equipment based on a pipe dream and you can skip the extra cost of insurance.
