My names Joe, im 26 years old and live in New Castle, Pa. I have basically inherited this and i need information about it if possible. It seems to be brass its heart shapped and it has a key. Im sure its pretty old. So if anyone can shed some information about it like its background, how rare (if it is) and is it valuable? This would be very helpful and appreciated! I have tried to upload the pictures not sure if it did or not cause im new to this and im using my phone.. but it is heart shaped and is gold colored brass (yellow brass?) and has a old key that unlocks the pad lock.. On the front side it says PennaCO. please let me know your thoughts!

Lock probably dates from around 1890-1910, value in good shape with key would be around $125, ebay's refusal to list railroad locks has softened that market somewhat.

??? A simple search of "railroad lock" brings up a whole bunch of listings. Are they known to yank them down?
