Rockhill Trolley Museum chartered two PCC II's (2326 and 2336) for a tour of the surface portions of the subway-surface lines. Outbound on the 10, we diverted to Route 15

to 63rd Street. After a break at the 63rd & Malvern Loop,

we returned to Route 15 and operated all the way from 63rd Street to 40th Street.

Bob,

Was the 15 running planned or did Ed just say what the hell and let you guys go?

It wasn't announced ahead of time. I don't know when Ed decided to do it, but it "made" the trip.

Excellent photos.

Did any regular passengers try to board the "Route 15" trolley, seeing as it had the regular in-service destination board?

Yes. A number of people tried to get on when we stopped at red lights and stop signs. One guy got quite irate when both trolleys passed him by.

That happened a lot on the Super Saturday trip as well. People were flagging us down to board all along the trip, regardless of what signs were displayed on the trolleys.
