Hello, I have not herd anything on C&O 4-8-4 614? Does Ross Rowland still own it and where is it at?

I think he still owns it. The last time I saw it it was sitting in Port Clinton on the R&N by the turntable.

Thanks Nick, does anyone know what Rowland plans to do with her. Also is she in good condition outside and inside. I hope that he'd at least put her out of the weather. Again thanks.

Hi

FWIW, Ross posts on TO/Steam. His handle? Read between the "dots":

There's also this website: http://www.co614.com/index.htm

I chased her on the Chessie Safety Trips and Erie Flyer trips. I'll never forget her approaching Tuxedo, NY westbound in '97. There were about 100 people waiting for her. Rumor spread that she was going to stop. That rumor persisted until she blew through town. Remember those 100 people? Yep, all running to their autos. It reminded me of the start of Le Mans. :-)

Looking forward to her return to the High Iron.

I believe that I read at the time of its move from NJ Transit's MMC to Port Clinton that it was in need of substantial repairs/rebuilding to be able to run.

Indeed, today arrived an e-mail from Ross soliciting donations for 614 repairs. Said will cost $500-700,000 for disassembly, inspection, etc.
