West Wye Connection Track in Springfield, Mo., $1.9 million, to relocate an existing wye track that runs through the center of the city in order to close 23 grade crossings and boost roadway safety.

This is the wye in Springfield, Missouri owned by BNSF. What is more revelant to new england though is the willamantic branch upgrade to 40mph.

The Providence & Worcester item is very interesting, it's been many, many years since 40 MPH between Willimantic and Plainfield.
AND YES JEFF, there is more than one Springfield, a lot more than one, just in the east: Vermont, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
