Nice pics! The station looks great.

Btw am I the only one who thinks those monopoles are bent a bit too much?

Thanks.

That second shot is actually a panorama; the angle between the monopoles is a function of the software I used. In reality, they're all upright!

I see retro flair - namely a streamlined modern touch harking to the 1930s-1960s (the age when "modern was in"). Looks like the Hamilton (NJ) station with these accents.

Oh I didn't mean in your photo itself I meant in general. Driving through West Haven on 95 northbound I can see them pop up from behind the trees and keep thinking that they're somewhat warped, especially towards the top.

Does anyone know when the station will open? A while back I heard it would open on June 1st, but clearly it didn't :P .

The schedule goes through the end of the month, so maybe July 1?

If it was opening in three weeks you'd think there'd be more publicity about it then.

West Haven station is scheduled to be finished by September, their working in wiring track 5 (industrial) to make it track 3 (signaling)

Ah, okay. In terms of the actual station, what still needs to be done?

Parking lots are not paved yet.

West Haven station due to open later this summer...

However, it could be a tough sell to get people to drive to a station in another town, said Judd Everhart, a spokesman for the state Department of Transportation, "especially if that means parking at a station that is farther from their ultimate destination."

I'm confused at what combining my post and the article achieves.

Hello All

I was by the WH Train station, the parking lot is done with freshly painted lines, and the sidewalks have been poured, with the trim along the sidewalks which will be done in brick is almost complete. September 1st or there about that date it should open. I can't wait next time I am down from Vermont I hope to head to NYC out of that station.

Regards;
Amy

I got a flurry of Google Alerts earlier in the week which indicate August 18th.

It will open Sunday August 18. One more stop on the long ride from GCT to New Haven!!! Now the people in Bridgeport want another station and the people in Orange want one to. Soon it will take longer to ride a train to New Haven that to drive on I-95!!!
